Biology Lecturer

Emory University’s Oxford College seeks candidates for a Lecturer in Biology to begin August, 2017.  The successful applicant will teach one lecture with laboratory course per semester in introductory biology and/or environmental science for majors and non-majors.  The professional responsibilities are half teaching and half laboratory preparation for cell biology, genetics, and organismal biology. REQUIRED: A minimum of a Master’s degree in a biology sub-discipline with broad training in biology is required, along with at least one year of laboratory teaching experience in general biology. PREFERRED: Individuals with keen interest in and experience with undergraduate students in the laboratory using inquiry-based teaching and student-centered learning are particularly encouraged to apply. ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Lecturers are reviewed after three years with potential for promotion to Senior Lecturer after six years. The biology faculty are working on a vision for future education in the biological sciences embodying the recommendations of Vision and Change and PULSE. A new, state-of-the-art science facility designed to promote student-faculty collaboration, scholarship, and innovative teaching in STEM opened in January 2016.
