ABLE 2017 attendees have the chance to enjoy the following organized, evening activities:

  • Hayden-McNeil reception MarkTuesday, June 13, 2017: Welcome Reception, 6:00 pm, Birge Hall Lobby. RSVP on the conference registration form.
  • Wednesday, June 14, 2017: Evening Mixer Sponsored by Hayden McNeil Publishers – Mark Kesson. Join us for an evening mixer sponsored by Hayden McNeil Publishers in the Discovery Building.  The building houses both the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery and the Morgridge Institute for Research. Everything about the building is designed for collaboration, community and interaction. It encourages the people working and visiting here to bump into each other and share ideas. It is strategically located in the heart of campus, closely connected to the university’s core academic centers.  RSVP on the conference registration form.
  • HHMI BioInteractive logoThursday, June 15, 2017: HHMI Movie night (Popped Secret: The Mysterious Origin of Corn — HHMI BioInteractive Video) and a visit with Dr. John Doebley. Where did corn come from? Genetic and archeological data point to what may seem like an unlikely ancestor. Discover the secret of corn in this HHMI BioInteractive educational video.  The star of the show will be John Doebley and his ‘amaizing’ research who will be available for a discussion following the film. RSVP on the conference registration form.
