Molecular Biology Outreach Coordinator Position
New Mexico State College

We invite applications for an Instructional Tech Coordinator at NMSU to establish and manage a scientific equipment lending library made available to local high school science teachers. This position will also develop lab based outreach activities and visit high schools to guide students and teachers through the activities. Local travel is required with limited statewide travel as needed. Interested candidates must have a Bachelors degree with strong research based laboratory experience that encompasses molecular biology techniques, a Masters is preferred. Teaching experience is required. Experience in the development and implementation of genetics-based laboratory activities is desirable. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Biology Educator
Central Michigan University

The Department of Biology at Central Michigan University invites applications for an exemplary teacher-researcher to fill a tenure-track position at the ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level in Biology Education to begin August 2009

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program in the area of Biology Education, with effective collaborations among relevant CMU departments, as well as external colleagues (e.g. K-12 schools, in-service teachers). The candidate has the opportunity to collaborate across colleges with several newly hired science educators at the University and to work collaboratively with the Science-Mathematics-Technology Center (SMTC). The appointee will be expected to contribute actively to the teacher education program, including the Integrated Science major for elementary and secondary certification, the Biology major for secondary certification, and the MAT degree in Integrated Science being developed for practicing teachers. The Biology Educator will teach undergraduate and graduate courses taken by students preparing for careers in teaching, and in the department’s introductory program. Additional responsibilities include advising, supervising undergraduate and graduate research, and Department and University service.
