Regional ABLE Conference 2015

The University of California, Irvine was proud to host a one-day Regional ABLE meeting February 21, 2015. Like the annual ABLE conferences, attendees got hands-on experience with a variety of lab exercises in major workshops and slightly shorter “medium” workshops. In addition, we hosted keynote speaker Dr. Susan Wessler from the University of California, Riverside, an HHMI Professor who emphasizes authentic research experiences in her undergraduate lab courses.
Applications for the major/medium workshops followed the annual conference guidelines and were due November 14, 2014. Conference registration opened soon after.
While this is a regional meeting, we were thrilled to welcome ABLE members from all over. Southern California has amazing winters (although watch out, the temperature can dip into the 50’s in February!), and all attendees who flew to the conference had their registration fees waived!
