Hi there,
We are redoing intro labs for fall (along with everyone else) and found a great lab that Georgia Tech used to do with unicellular and multicellular yeast and predation pressure from rotifers (Pentz, J.T., T. Limberg, N. Beermann, and W.C. Ratcliff. 2015. Predator escape: an ecologically realistic scenario for the evolutionary origns of multicellularity. Evo Edu Outreach 8: 13). We are having trouble locating the yeast strains due to covid closures. Just wondering if anyone has these, and is there the possibility of getting them to Canada?
- Saccromyces cerevisiae unicellular yeast spores (strain Y55)
- Saccromyces cerevisiae multicellular snowflake yeast spores, evolved after 3 weeks of settling selection (C1W3)
