Lab Coordinator

The Department of Biology at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX, invites applications for a Laboratory Coordinator (3-year term, renewable) at the rank of Lecturer. The successful candidate will coordinate and teach sections for our two-semester introductory laboratory sequence. The Lab Coordinator will also play an integral role in future laboratory curriculum development. Starting date is August 2022. The typical teaching load is 7 laboratory courses per year. Lecturers are fully integrated into the life of the department and are expected to advise students and contribute to departmental service.

Candidates must have an MS or Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field and have some experience designing and implementing laboratory exercises for a biology course. The Laboratory Coordinator, in collaboration with other faculty and with support from university pedagogy resources, will contribute refinements and innovations to continue the development of an engaging and contemporary laboratory curriculum that positions students for success in advanced courses and in meeting their long-term goals. Demonstrated teaching ability in modern and inclusive pedagogy is strongly preferred. The content of our introductory lab courses spans from cellular/molecular to ecology/evolution. Thus, experience or engagement with diverse aspects of biology is also preferred.
