Assistant/Associate Professor, Biochemistry

Summary:
Lynn University is seeking a Biochemist for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Biochemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences. The duties of this position will primarily be to design and teach undergraduate courses in both the Biology major and in Scientific Literacy within the university’s thematic core curriculum, The Dialogues, and graduate courses in the Master’s program in Biological Sciences.

Job Description:

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Teach courses in accordance with college guidelines
  • Participate in the college’s assessment program of student performance
  • Timely response to student questions and concerns
  • Timely submission of university reports and requirements, such as attendance, grades, student progress reports, etc.
  • Hold at least 8 in person office hours per week

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Candidates must be proficient with using technology for instructional delivery, such as learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) and presentation software (e.g. PowerPoint)
  • Candidates must have an appreciation of different learning styles to incorporate into their instructional delivery
  • Candidates must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

Minimum qualifications

  • Candidates must have an earned doctoral degree in a discipline appropriate to the position. Disciplines appropriate for this position would be Biochemistry or either Biology or Chemistry with a strong background in Biochemistry
  • All degrees must have been completed at a regionally accredited institution
