Instructor/Assistant Instructor-Microbiology and Molecular Genetics

Position Summary

The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics is seeking outstanding candidates to fill two fixed-term Instructor or Assistant Instructor positions for our undergraduate Introductory and Advanced Microbiology laboratory courses. Duties will include preparation of laboratory setup and cleanup, attending recitations, help room hours, assisting students during the laboratory sessions, grading, maintaining student records, and other duties as assigned by the course coordinator. Depending on department needs, candidates may also devote a portion of their time to assist in teaching large lecture or hybrid microbiology courses.

Minimum Requirements

The minimum degree required for an Instructor position is a M.S. in microbiology, biology, or a related field.

The minimum degree required for an Assistant Instructor position is a B.S. in microbiology, biology, or a related field.  

Desired Qualifications

Prior experience in teaching undergraduate microbiology courses or as an undergraduate learning assistant in a microbiology or biology laboratory or lecture courses is highly desired.
