Instructor/Assistant/Associate/Professor Education Scholar Pathway

Robert Larner, MD College of Medicine University of Vermont

The Department of Neurological Sciences at the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine (LCOM) at the University of Vermont seeks to recruit a new faculty member on the Education Scholar Pathway to participate in undergraduate instruction in anatomy and physiology. Qualified candidates will possess a master’s or doctoral-level degree (MD or PhD) in biological or related science as well as 3 or more years related experience. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology is likewise required, as is a passion for teaching, strong interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to participate in team-based education.

Academic advancement on the Education Scholar Pathway at the Larner College of Medicine requires excellence in teaching as well as scholarly contributions, particularly in the areas of medical and graduate education, with the successful candidate’s starting faculty rank to be determined in accordance with qualifications and/or current academic rank.

The Department of Neurological Sciences at UVM is home to world-class researchers, physician scientists, and educators who blend clinical excellence in the treatment of neurological conditions with outstanding research of nervous system function and dysfunction and the education of diverse learner populations from undergraduates to postgraduates. The Department also plays an active role in the Neuroscience Graduate Program leading to the PhD in Neuroscience.
