On Campus Housing
Apartment-style accommodations in a UC San Diego residence hall were available for conference attendees. Located on the west side of campus, Muir Residential Housing surrounds a grassy quad where conference guests could study, play Frisbee, and socialize. The Natatorium swimming complex, recreation fields, volleyball, basketball and tennis courts, plus, one of two campus gymnasiums, are all a short walk from those residential areas.
Guests were assigned to a private, single occupancy bedroom in a shared apartment (max of 4 people per apartment). Housing assignments were based on length of stay and gender identity. Each apartment unit includes a living room, dining room, and kitchen. Each kitchen is equipped with full-sized appliances, and a microwave. Bedrooms contain a wardrobe dresser, desk, and desk chair. Beds are made upon arrival with one (1) set of bed linens, one (1) blanket, one (1) pillow. Includes one (1) set of towels that can be refreshed upon request during stay, as well as clothing hangers, portable fans, and toiletries. Service includes twice weekly cleaning of common areas and trash removal.
Conference rate: A private bedroom in a shared apartment was $80 per night. There was a $15 reservation fee. Reservations and payment for on-campus housing were done during conference registration (opened March 15, 2023).
Please note that on-campus housing was not available for Saturday night. Those who wished to participate in a Saturday excursion could store their bags at Tata Hall during the day on Saturday.
Residence Inn by Marriott La Jolla
Residence Inn La Jolla offers apartment-like hotel accommodations adjacent to UC San Diego’s campus. Reservations were requested by Tuesday May 30th 2023 at 1(800) 331-3131.
Conference rate was $249/night + tax.
Ten additional suites were available at a higher conference rate of $359/night + tax.
Those who wish to participate in a Saturday excursions could book the Residence Inn for Saturday night at the conference rate.
Mission Bay Inn
This hotel did not have a conference rate, but it is good value, partly since it is so far from La Jolla. It is convenient for commuting to the UC San Diego campus since it is a 5 min walk from the Clairemont Drive trolley station (blue line). Trolley every 15 min, journey time to campus 14 min.
